LO4 (D2): Evaluating the flow

The final edit of the radio show WDQ flows significantly and professionally, we have done this through making sure that there are suitable background noises that help with the flow of the radio show from the adverts to the jingle to the presenters and their guests. The flow of this radio show can be seen as professional and suitable for its purpose, this show meets its purpose and its min topic for it expresses different subjects contains in the main topic. We have included interviews with professionals from the wildlife park to contain and inform the audience on the information they thought they would never want to know yet makes them appreciate the events more once they have more information on it. This radio show sounds like a real radio show for it contains a professional sounding advert and jingle that we have created for WDQ and the advert for the Jazz Cafe. There is also evidence of there being a comedic effect throughout the radio show that makes the radio show sound more professional and as if it is created live on air because of some of the mistakes and bloopers that we have included. We considered removing the giggles throughout the radio show but further denied against it because the radio show is meant to be seen as it was recorded and broadcasted live, this gave it more of a relaxed feeling to the radio show and made it so that the how is more realistic and not scripted.

We ensured that there is a clear beginning to the radio show for we have done a synced moment where we both say the same thing at the same time and further did this at the end of the radio show. This could further be seen as a recognisable thing that WDQ do and there specific thing that they are known for seems as it is repeated twice throughout the radio show. This radio show has a clear beginning for there is a simple introduction to the radio show followed by the jingle we created, I did this to ensure that the radio show had a clear beginning because it makes the radio show seem more professional and it makes it so that there is a introduction to the show that the audience will recognise.

The strengths of the recording and the editing of this radio show would have to be the jingle and the use of the pitch changed on the voices and the use of the different audios and sound effects. These would have to be the strengths of the radio show because the jingle is significant and is unique and catchy meaning the audience would know what they are listening to and would make it so that there is a specific audio that the audience would relate to WDQ. The editing on this radio show strengthens the content through making it more interesting and making it so that the flow of the radio show is better and is more professional. The strengths of the recording on the radio show would have to be the content of how there is comedic effects contained on the radio show and there is also evidence of how we have researched other radio shows to see how they are effective and professional and how they are successful and have further developed that onto the radio show.

The weaknesses of WDQ would have to be how there is paused silences, first jingle stop and starts fast, lions roar really loud on the jingle. These would be considered as the weaknesses for the radio show but they are also not highly noticeable to the naked eye. The paused silences occur when the presenters are talking to the guests, there is a pause of where the presenters are unsure of what is needed to be said. The first jingle doesn't flow with the radios content because it opens as if it isn't finished for example it starts and stops very fast and sounds as if there has been a section of the jingle cut out. During the jingle there is also a loud roar from a lion, we did not consider the idea of people using headphones whilst listening to the show so we would have to lower the tempo of the roar so it doesn't cause any hearing issues for people.

One way of how the radio show could be improved is through making the first jingle fade in and then fade out of the rest of the content to make sure it flows better. I will also make sure that next time there would be more rehearsals so the presenters have faster responses to the guests removing the paused silence that occurs. To ensure that the roar in the jingle is more appropriate and the risk of damaging peoples ears is minimised I will make sure to quieten the roar so it doesn't cause any hearing issues.
